Class Schedule

Anger Management: Held on Thursday nights, in the Municipal Court/Teen Court Building from 5pm to 9pm once a month. PARENT OR GUARDIAN MUST ATTEND THIS COURSE WITH THE DEFENDANT. Defendant is required to bring a 500 word essay on “how anger affects your life.” Must use references such as a book or website and note them in your essay. PLAGIARISM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

Traffic/City Ordinance: Held on Wednesday nights in the Municipal Court/Teen Court Building from 5pm to 8pm once a month. Defendants are required to bring a 500 word essay on a topic related to their charge. Must be handwritten or typed in your own words explaining the circumstances of your offense and how you will prevent it in the future.

Theft Awareness: Held on Tuesday nights in the Municipal Court/Teen Court Building from 5pm to 9pm every other month. Defendants are required to bring a 500 word essay on “the effects their actions have had on themselves, their family, and the store/victim” and what will prevent them from doing it again in the future.  Defendant must bring a 250 word apology letter to the store or victim.

Alcohol/Tobacco/Drug related cases will attend the ETCADA or Special Health Resources state mandated Alcohol, Tobacco, or Drug courses. Class fees range from $60 to $65 and are paid to the office where the course is held.

 

ALL CLASSES COUNT AS COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS AND ARE REQUIRED IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE TEEN COURT PROGRAM.
